Weather can make you feel like you’re behind the eight ball at planting, yet you should resist the urge to speed up to cover more acres faster, writes Jason Van Maanen, CCA-ON (Veritas – Chatham). While newer corn planters can singulate the seed at speeds up to 8-mph, most planters are designed to properly place the seed in the soil at an operating speed of about 5-mph.
