Convenience in farming: At what cost?

The ongoing consolidation of farm operations across Ontario and all of North America is resulting in fewer and larger farm units.  Coupled with historically high farm income and the re-investment of those incomes back into land and larger farm equipment, a trans-formation in farming is taking place.  Farming is getting bigger and faster, and one could argue that size, speed and convenience are taking precedence over agronomics and yield.
